Five tips for faster lesson plans with the REB template
Teaching tips | 12 Sep 2026 | 1 min read
A good lesson plan is short, clear and usable. These tips work with the official REB lesson plan template.
- Start from the scheme of work. Copy the unit objectives first, then plan the activities that lead to them.
- Plan backwards. Decide how you will know learners understood, then design the activities.
- Reuse what works. Save a good plan and adapt it for the next class.
- Write timings in minutes for each stage so the lesson fits the period.
- Prepare one extension task for fast learners and one support task for those who need help.
Smart School App's lesson plan generator fills the template from the real scheme of work in English, French or Kinyarwanda, so teachers can spend their time on the teaching ideas.
